Herbs and Viruses

I'm copying this post onto my blog, mainly for my own reference.  However, the information is so good, I also wanted to share it with you.  This comes from the Bulk Herb Store's Newsletter dated 10/17/2014.  I will attach a link at the bottom of this post. :)

Ebola is a virus. You can fight a virus better with a balanced body and a strong immune system. There are many herbs that are Antiviral, Antibacterial, and Immune Boosters. Even though Ebola is a virus, killing bad bacteria and promoting Good Bacteria in your gut helps balance your body and Boost Your Immune System to fight viruses.
Right now my favorite herbal remedies to keep my family happy and healthy are:

How to make:

Antiviral Herbs:

Probiotic Herbs:

Immune Boosters:

Body-Balancing Herbs:

Herbs to Cook With:

Healthy Foods:

  • Food is medicine. What you eat and consume on a daily bases impacts your body. We can weaken it or strengthen it with the things we consume.
  • Lots of Fruits & Vegetables – Fresh Organic Juicing is good.
  • Grass Fed & Organic Meats - Instead of conventionally raised meats (also, don’t overeat meats).
  • Probiotic & Enzymes - Happy Gut, Fermented Foods like apple cider vinegar (with the Mother), sauerkraut & other fermented vegetables, Coconut & water kefir, & kombucha.
  • Vitamin D, Vitamin C, & Zinc - Do not overdue your vitamin D intake. Vitamin D is great but more is not better.
  • Chia Seeds, coconut oil, pumpkin seeds, coconut water, Beets & leafy greens.
  • Water Filter - I use the Berkey Water Filtration System.

Foods to Avoid:

  • Any Processed Food
  • GMO Fruits & Vegetables - Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO).
  • Sugars - Especially refined.
  • Gluten - Wheat, most grains & many flours.
  • Casein - Dairy like milk & cheese.
Right now there is no proven cure for Ebola, but it is a virus and we can do our best to strengthen our bodies’ immune system and be healthier for it.

Love God by Submitting

If you struggle with submitting to a perfect God, who loves you completely and forever, it will be near impossible to submit to an imperfect husband, who can only love you as much as humanly possible.  Ask God to begin with you.

New Things...

I'm not usually fond of new things.  I prefer comfortable and worn, cozy and familiar.  New makes me nervous, anxious, and sometimes, afraid.  When the seasons change, I'm often sad for what is past, but hopeful for what it to come.  It's the hope that overshadows the fear.

"Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare... "  Isaiah 42:9 KJV

New doesn't have to make you afraid.  New car? dress? stationary?  Those things can be new to you and bring happiness.  The new isn't what brings the fear, is it?   So, what is it?  I believe that fear does NOT come from the Lord.  Fear is the devil's way of drawing your focus from what God would have you do...think of Moses?  He was afraid when God called him......

That's all Moses did, wasn't it?  He decided to try...to trust.  And so, here I sit....trying out this "blog" thing, attempting to share my thoughts with you.  I'm no expert on anything.  I'm a simple wife, mom, friend, daughter, and follower of Jesus Christ.  Hopefully, there's something here to inspire, educate, or humor you, but if nothing else, I hope you find the courage to try.

On my mind......

Does it get any simpler than that?  There is NOTHING that is able to separate us from the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.  I needed that today.  I needed reassurance that the bond is unbreakable, that through Jesus I am forever LOVED!  In the hustle and bustle of even the simplest life, there are times of refreshment and reflection needed.  Today, I found mine.

Doors

I'm fascinated lately with doors. Wood doors, metal doors, painted doors and
wood doors. So many different types, kinds and colors, but they all do they
same thing: they open up a new season of life for us. It doesn't matter which
door you choose, the prettiest or the biggest; they both have the same purpose.

And inevitably, when one door closes, the next opens. You can't move to the
next season if the door behind you hasn't already closed.....just think of what
might sneak in.....!

I am seeing many doors in the life of my family right now. The closing doors
are hard to shut in some cases...others, close with ease. Some of the doors in
front of us hold unknowns, but all offer a new season to life; a new blessing.

I'm thankful for all of the doors in my life; even the ones that I didn't choose
to close. "All things work together for good to those who love the Lord..."
Romans 8:28. He makes ALL things work for GOOD. What an incredible promise to
be able to hold onto as doors are slamming or being left open for the cold to
blow inside.....All things...I'm grateful for the doors.

My Search

I've named this the "Search for Simplicity" and that is what I do...search.  I read the blogs, buy the books, listen to the speakers, and still I search.  I am beginning to wonder if simplicity can ever exist in this life because let's face it:  life is not simple.  It's complicated and confusing and hard and messy.  Life is the opposite of simple.

Hmm...maybe I'm searching for the wrong things.  Maybe the simplicity is in the components of the life.  The day-to-day activities, moments, thoughts, and places that can be simple.

My husband's favorite phrase is "simple life". He's always reminding me that our goal is just that: a simple life.   This search is because of that goal.  This search is about ensuring that my family lives as simply as possible, so that the confusion and messiness of life itself is easier to handle.

I'm excited to be sharing my journey with you.  Grab a cup of hot tea, a comfortable chair, and come along. And please, share with me as I do with you.
